/list | This command is used to list available discussion channels on the network; you must be registered with NickServ to use it. | /list |
/join <#channel> | This command is used to join a discussion channel. | /join #howlchat |
/part <#channel> (message) | This command is used to leave a discussion channel. | /part #howlchat /part #howlchat bye |
/nick <nickname> | This command is used to change your nickname. Nicknames may not contain spaces. | /nick SheWolf |
/query <nickname> | This command allows you to open a private message tab with another user, but does not immediately message or notify them. | /query SheWolf |
/msg <nickname> <message> | This command allows you to send a private message to another user of howl.chat. | /msg SheWolf Hey, how are you? |
/whois <nickname> | This command displays information about the target nickname including: their (hashed) hostmask, if they are identified to NickServ, channels they are in, and if they are howl.chat staff. | /whois SheWolf |
/whowas <nickname> | This command displays brief information about a nickname that is not currently connected to the network, but who has connected at one point, for example: when they were last seen. | /whowas SheWofl |
/away (reason) | This command enables you to mark yourself as away from your keyboard. | /away /away out howling |
/back | This command is used to undo the away command and mark that you have returned. | /back |
